The everyday explanation

Meet the building team

D3 · the project manager

One capsule provides vitamin D3 75 µg (3,000 IU). Vitamin D supports calcium absorption, muscles and the immune system.

K2 · the architect

One capsule provides K2 100 µg as MK-7. Vitamin K helps activate proteins involved in bone maintenance and normal blood clotting.

Calcium · the building blocks

The analogy’s building material is calcium from your diet. This D3 + K2 capsule does not itself contain a labelled calcium serving.

A high-strength serving

75 µg of vitamin D3 is more than the NHS’s usual 10 µg daily supplementation advice. Check your total from all supplements.

Little things worth knowing

Did you know?

Darker skin and the UK sunlight question

Melanin reduces the skin’s ability to make vitamin D from sunlight. The NHS advises that people with dark skin, including those of African, Caribbean or South Asian background, consider a daily supplement throughout the year.

A little dietary fat helps

Vitamin D is fat soluble. Take your daily capsule with a meal containing some fat—such as eggs, yoghurt, olive oil or a little butter. Breakfast is convenient; another regular mealtime works too.

Daylight still has a job

A supplement and outdoor daylight do different things. Morning daylight helps set your body clock, supporting sleep–wake timing. If bright light triggers your migraine, choose comfortable light and seek advice about what suits you.

Okay, but how does it actually work?

Let’s look a little closer

Think of bone maintenance as an ongoing building project. Vitamin D helps bring calcium into the body by supporting absorption: the project-manager part of the story. Vitamin K is needed to activate several proteins, including osteocalcin, which is involved in bone: the architect part. These vitamins also have other jobs. The analogy explains their partnership; it does not mean K2 guarantees calcium is sent only to bones or prevents deposits in arteries. MK-7 is one form of vitamin K2. The scientific detail is about nutrient function, rather than a promise that this combination prevents migraine.

MigraSoothe Vitamin D3 + K2 FAQs

Why combine vitamin D3 and K2?

Vitamin D supports calcium absorption and bone maintenance; vitamin K helps activate proteins involved in bone and clotting. They have complementary roles, which makes the building-team analogy useful.

How much is in one capsule?

Vitamin D3 75 µg, equivalent to 3,000 IU (1,500% NRV), and vitamin K2 100 µg (133% NRV). K2 is supplied as MK-7. These are per-capsule label amounts.

What does the project-manager and architect analogy mean?

D3 helps make calcium available through absorption, like a project manager bringing materials to a site. K2 supports activation of proteins involved in bone maintenance, like an architect helping the build. It is a teaching metaphor, not a claim of guaranteed calcium routing.

Is vitamin D only about bones?

No. It also contributes to normal muscle and immune-system function. Those wide-ranging roles are why it is valuable nutrition, while extra vitamin D does not necessarily improve every system in a person who already has enough.

Is 3,000 IU the everyday NHS recommendation?

No. The NHS usually advises 10 µg (400 IU) daily supplementation. This product supplies 75 µg (3,000 IU) per capsule. Adult NHS advice is not to exceed 100 µg (4,000 IU) daily; that ceiling is not a target. Count other supplements too.

How should I take D3 + K2?

For adults, take one capsule daily, with a meal and water, following the current bottle label. Do not exceed the stated amount. Include vitamin D from other supplements when checking your daily total.

Can I take it with warfarin?

Ask your anticoagulation team before starting. Vitamin K can interfere with warfarin and similar medicines; keeping intake consistent matters.

Does it contain fillers or a capsule shell?

Yes. The label lists microcrystalline cellulose, an HPMC shell, vitamin preparations and anti-caking agents. These help make the capsule; this product is not described as filler-free.

Can darker skin mean I should take more than 4,000 IU daily?

Darker skin can increase the risk of low vitamin D in the UK, but it does not by itself establish a higher safe daily limit. NHS adult advice is not to exceed 100 micrograms (4,000 IU) daily. A clinician may prescribe a different dose to treat a diagnosed deficiency, with an appropriate plan and monitoring. Our capsule supplies 3,000 IU; count vitamin D from other supplements too.

Is morning or evening better for D3 + K2?

A daily routine with a meal matters more than a strict time of day. Morning breakfast is an easy habit, especially with some dietary fat, but you can use another mealtime that suits you. Follow the current bottle directions.
