Understanding status migrainosus

Explore the Migraine A–Z

What does this mean?

Status migrainosus describes a debilitating migraine attack lasting more than 72 hours. It is a prolonged attack that needs medical assessment and a treatment plan, rather than a problem to manage by adding food supplements.

When an attack continues day after day, it can become difficult to eat, drink, sleep or cope. The priority is getting appropriate medical help and discussing what to do next.

Supplements that may help

The supplements below are options for regular nutritional support over time, after considering your care plan. They are not an emergency kit, rapid-relief treatment or a way to stop status migrainosus.

Your questions, answered

Can supplements stop a prolonged migraine attack?

No. Do not delay assessment while trying supplements. Once the immediate episode is being managed, you can discuss your longer-term routine with a clinician.

2. What herbal ingredients are included in MigraSoothe products?

Herbal ingredients vary by product. MigraSoothe + Herbs and MigraSoothe Pro contain feverfew and ginger. The MigraSoothe Menstrual Migraine Booster contains sage, alfalfa, Panax ginseng, soya isoflavones, hops, kelp, rosemary leaf and flaxseed.

3. Are natural migraine treatment products all the same?

No. Natural products can differ substantially in ingredients, dose and intended purpose. MigraSoothe uses a modular range: core products provide a riboflavin-based foundation, while separate boosters offer magnesium, CoQ10, probiotics, alpha-lipoic acid, vitamin D3 with K2 or other targeted support.

4. Can vitamins and herbal migraine relief be combined?

Yes. MigraSoothe + Herbs combines riboflavin with feverfew and ginger, while MigraSoothe Pro also includes L-tryptophan, alpha-lipoic acid and B vitamins. Separate boosters allow magnesium, CoQ10, probiotics or other nutrients to be added without placing every ingredient in one capsule.
