Tension-type Headaches, Migraine Soothing
What is a tension-type headache?
Tension-type headache is usually felt on both sides as pressing or tightening pain of mild to moderate intensity. It is not normally worsened by routine activity and usually does not include vomiting. Migraine more often brings nausea, sensory sensitivity or pain worsened by activity, although real-life patterns can overlap.
The word “tension” can imply that the person caused the headache by being stressed. In fact, tension-type headache is a recognised diagnosis. Stress may coincide with attacks, but the name does not prove a psychological cause.
How understanding developed
Tension-type headache and migraine are different patterns
Classification evolved from older ideas about muscle-contraction headache. Current criteria focus on the symptom pattern and frequency, helping distinguish episodic and chronic tension-type headache from migraine and other disorders.
What to notice
- Pressing or tightening pain is more typical than throbbing.
- Vomiting and marked activity-related worsening point away from tension-type headache.
- Frequent or changing headache still deserves clinical review.
Supplements that may help
The products below are general nutritional options from a migraine range. Evidence discussed for riboflavin, magnesium or CoQ10 in migraine should not be presented as proof that they treat tension-type headache.

Your questions, answered
How does tension-type headache differ from migraine?
Tension-type headache is often bilateral, pressing or tightening, mild to moderate and not worsened by ordinary activity. Migraine is more likely to include nausea, sensory sensitivity or activity-related worsening.
Does the name mean stress is the cause?
No. Stress can be relevant for some people, but tension-type headache is a recognised diagnosis and should not be dismissed as simply being tense.
Are these supplements specifically for tension-type headache?
No specific treatment claim should be made. The collection shows nutritional products from a migraine range, while evidence for migraine nutrients does not automatically establish benefit in tension-type headache.
When should a tension-type pattern be reviewed?
Arrange a review if headaches are frequent, changing, worsening or affecting daily life. Seek urgent help for sudden severe pain or neurological, fever, neck-stiffness or confusion symptoms.

How do I choose a formula?
Start with our Product Selector for help exploring the range. Choose one core formula: Original, + Herbs or Pro. Our ecosystem guide explains how the core formulas, boosters and ready-made packs fit together.
Can I take Original, + Herbs and Pro together?
These are alternative core formulas: choose one, rather than taking them together. Ready-made packs already include a core formula, so check their contents before adding anything else. Use our Product Selector for help choosing, and ask a pharmacist about overlapping ingredients.
Where can I find ingredients and directions?
Each product page lists its ingredients and directions. Follow the bottle labels. The How It Works links on the product cards explain the routines in more detail.
